Inspired by his Musicologist Dad, Pa Mathew Olaniran, Samuel Bolton, AKA Bolton Percussion remains one of the most sought-after percussionists from Nigeria. His talent has seen him collaborate with some of Nigeria’s best, and his percussive skills have found their way into the soundtrack of a major Hollywood film that you most likely have seen. Someone say Wakanda.
Ahead of Bolton with his Ensemble’s performance at Agogo Arts and Nature Festival 2024, we asked him 5 necessary questions.

What do the themes of Nature and Culture mean to you?
Bolton
Nature and culture have amazed me since I was 13 years old because I always imagined how beautiful God was and how His creation were so awesome to the extent that death overcomes everything on earth. These are elements that inspired me to love the culture of humans more because it teaches peace, morality, love, intelligence, and lots more and made me open to learning about other cultures around the world as a musician and also enjoy every bit of the nature
