Happy World Environment Day 2026, dear Agogolites. We are happy for this beautiful day of our enchanting universe, June 5th, that has been set aside for us to reflect on our ecology- our relationship with our natural environment, and to do the needful in maintaining its health and sustainability.

Here are some recommendations to celebrate this day.

• Adopt the 4Rs: “Reduce, Reuse, Repair, and Recycle” to reduce our waste.
• Switch to reusable bags, water bottles, and containers to combat plastic pollution.
• Conserve Energy & Water: Implement small changes like turning off lights when not in use and harvesting rainwater.
• Participate in a Cleanup: Join or organize a cleanup at local markets, coastlines, or parks to remove litter and prevent local pollution.
• Plant Trees & Greenery: Take part in or start an afforestation program to plant native tree saplings to improve local air quality.
• Support Local Conservation: Engage with environmental advocacy groups in Nigeria, like Agogo Arts and Nature, and others.
